We've just wrapped two days of tracking and mixing with Damon Moon (Sleepers Club) over at Standard Electric Recording Co. Our first two singles are now being mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive, Three Quarter Skies). We can't wait to share the results!
The culmination of years of friendship and countless shows attended together, School of Design formed in late 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. With over half a decade of combined experience across genres, and varying degrees of success in touring, recording, and charting, Samantha Kranz, Brett Miotti, Dustin Ragland, Luke Thornton, and Matt Turner have set their sights on dreamier, gauzier horizons with this latest endeavor. Their debut single and B-side reflect a clear love of fabled labels like Creation and 4AD, while deeper listening reveals a shared affinity for ’80s pop and more refined sounds spanning from ’60s psychedelia to modern avant-garde composition. Recorded with Damon Moon at Standard Electric Recording Co. and mastered by Simon Scott of Slowdive, “After the Warmth” and “Slowdance” offer a first glimpse of a full EP slated for Fall/Winter 2026.
